 Sun. 1/24   3:00-4:30   John Reiss presents his book, Think Outside the Box Office: The Ultimate Guide to Film Distribution and Marketing for the Digital Era. This is “Essential reading for anyone making an independent film today” according to Scott Macaulay, Editor, Filmmaker Magazine.       

Mon. 1/25  2:00-3:00  Michael Knight signing The Taqwacores.  Named for taqwa, an Arabic term for consciousness of the divine, this book was originally self-published on photocopiers and spiral-bound by hand. The Taqwacores has become a manifesto for Muslim punk rockers.  The film, The Taqwacores, will be premiering in the Sundance Spotlight category.    

Mon. 1/25  3:30- 5:00  Film festival guru, Chris Gore will team up with Slamdance Festival co-founder and political satirist Dan Mirvish. Chris Gore’s Ultimate Film Festival Survival Guide includes full listings for more than 1,000 film festivals, with complete tips and contact information, plus in-depth analysis of the Big Ten festivals. Mirvish’s book, I Am Martin Eisenstadt is the first person account of fake pundit Martin Eisenstadt. The book describes a myriad of political intrigues, escapades, and cyberspace detective work.

This book gives the independent producer vital information about the business and legal aspects of movie production.  This is simply the undisputed bible for anyone thinking of making an independent film.

Tues. 1/26  7:00- 8:00   Peter Hanson presents Tales from the Script: 50 Hollywood Screenwriters Share their Stories. Fifty screenwriters share the inside scoop about how they surmounted incredible odds to break into the business, how they transformed their ideas into box-office blockbusters, how their words helped launch the careers of major stars, and how they earned accolades and Academy Awards.     

Thursday 1/28 6:00-7:00  William Kerig, Filmmaker, author, skier, adventurer, signing his book, The Edge of Never.  The Edge of Never is a nonfiction book that follows the story of a young man, Kye Petersen, who travels to Chamonix, France, to ski the route that killed his famous, big-mountain skiing father, Trevor Petersen. 1/29  3:00-4:00  Amy Goodman, author, award-winning investigative journalist, columnist, and the host of Democracy Now! will be signing her NYT bestseller, Breaking the Sound Barrier.  Goodman received the Right Livelihood Award for political journalism, she will appear on the Sundance panel “Saving Democracy, One Story at a Time”.
